The San Antonio area is under a Winter Storm Warning From Saturday afternoon until Noon on Sunday.

Temperatures start to fall rapidly on Saturday morning across the area as the arctic front moves through.

Temperatures will fall below freezing by noon in the Hill Country, which will cause roads to become slick midday. That freezing line pushes into San Antonio after 6 pm. Any wet streets will then freeze, creating dangerous travel conditions by later Saturday evening.

A second round of moisture pushes into the area, which will likely be freezing rain or sleet. Ice accumulations of a tenth of an inch to a quarter of an inch are possible, with localized higher totals in the Hill Country.

An Extreme Cold Warning is also in effect beginning Saturday through Monday morning, with parts of Bexar County expected to see single digit wind chills.
