The House Oversight Committee is investigating Congresswoman Ilhan Omar and her husband according to a report with Fox news.
The report is citing their rising family wealth after the Somali social services fraud scandal rocked her district in Minnesota.
Oversight Panel Chairman, James Comer says staff lawyers are considering an investigation and could issue a subpoena looking into the politician’s husband, Tim Mynett, over his business practices.
Republicans would like to know how Omar went from being broke to being worth up to 20 million dollars in one year, according to her 2024 disclosure forms.
The report says separately, Federal Law Enforcement is probing as well. In addition, the FBI was briefed during the Biden administration on suspicions on companies associated with Mynett.
