The San Antonio City Council has officially voted to acquire a downtown federal office building and the surrounding lots for $30 million.
The site spans more than five acres and will house a mix of residences, businesses, and office space as part of the Project Marvel entertainment district.
The centerpiece of Project Marvel will be the planned $1.3 billion sports arena, which will serve as the new home of the San Antonio Spurs.
The Spurs will also front the $30 million needed to purchase the federal building and surrounding lots.
