Vote: 5th Time Not The Charm, Schumer Shutdown Continues

Another day, another vote, same results. On Day 6 of the Schumer Shutdown, the Senate again rejected both Democratic and Republican proposals to fund the government and end the shutdown.

The Democrats' proposal failed by a 45-55 vote and the Republican bill failed by a 52-42 vote. Both needed 60 votes to pass.

Senate Majority Leader John Thune R-S.D., needs at least eight Democrats to cross the aisle and support the GOP’s bill, which would reopen the government until Nov. 21. Right now it's still at 3.

On the left's side, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer D-N.Y., and most of the Dems are still pushing for free health care for illegal aliens, and say they will not vote unless they get it.
