The San Antonio City Council has officially approved a massive new budget for the city, totaling more than $4 billion.

This comes as the city continues to battle a deficit of around $174 million. The council reportedly is trying to bridge that gap with a number of increased fees and fines.

It does appear that the council was able to address public safety concerns like police, fire, and drainage without raising property taxes.

Mayor Gina Ortiz Jones says this budget includes an extra $411 million for major drainage projects around the city.
