A federal judge named Timothy Kelly has blocked the Trump Administration from deporting hundreds of Guatemalan nationals.
This follows his concerns that the illegal immigrants, who are primarily minors, will not be able to be reunited with their parents, as well as questions about violence or neglect they might face in their home country.
The Trump administration maintains that at least some of the children had expressed interest in returning to their parents in Guatemala.
As of now, their deportation is essentially permanently on hold, but the Trump administration could appeal this decision.
