Democrats and the left are accusing President Trump of corruption after the Qatar royal family offered up a 400 million dollar luxury Boeing 747-8 for use as a temporary Air Force One, while we continue to wait for Boeing to deliver the jets Trump ordered in his first term.
Dr. Bobby Eberle with the Fort Bend County GOP pointed out how hypocritical this is, after they ignored corruption from the Biden family for years. He said, "All of these aspects of a whole corrupt network are a major story that the Democrats just blew off as some kind of witch hunt."
Eberle went on to say that this just shows that Democrats simply can't beat Trump on the issues. He said, "Democrats are looking for a way to attack, and this one came on the radar screen. Now they seize on this like, 'Oh well, let's claim corruption. We'll see if that one works!'"
He also pointed out that Trump himself actually is not receiving the gift. The plane is being given specifically to the Department of Defense, and once they no longer have any use for it, it will be stored in Trump's presidential library. This isn't anything new either. The jet that was used as President Ronald Reagan’s Air Force One is now stored at his presidential library in Simi Valley, California.
Eberle said, "I actually have to credit President Trump, dismissing this by saying, 'Hey, we'd be stupid not to take this gift that's going to the Department of Defense. The alternative would be paying for another one ourselves, which is ridiculous.'"
