Last year, judge David Peeples ruled that Harris County must hold a 'do-ever' election from a judicial race in 2022. But now, the election that was supposed to take place next month, has been delayed yet again due to an appeal.
"This case has been delayed repeatedly, and it's not over yet" said Holly Hansen, reporter for The Texan.
The 2022 elections were rife with controversies and issues here Here in Harris County. So much so that judge Peeples, a visiting judge stepped in and ordered a 'do-over' for Republican Tami Pierce and Democrat Dasean Jones.
Unfortunately, the delays have allowed Dasean Jones to stay in the seat.
"And that is the frustrating thing for a lot of voters who believe that this election should be redone" Hansen told KTRH.
As for Republican Tami Pierce, she will now have to wait and hope for a possible shot in the November elections.
The Harris County judicial seat will then be up for grabs again in 2026.
