As Democrats struggle to win back support in red states like Texas, one issue in particular is holding them back. The Dems' full embrace of the transgender agenda has led them to electoral defeat and the defection of their own elected officials. The trans issue was used extensively against Collin Allred in his race against Sen. Ted Cruz last year, which ended with a decisive victory for Cruz.
Dems are now trotting out failed former candidates Tim Walz and Beto O'Rourke to try to "man up" their operation. But, as writer and policy expert Nathanael Blake says, the Dems have a manhood problem...and it starts with the trans issue. "As we've seen, the first person to come forward and say I think this is wrong is going to be viciously attacked," he tells KTRH. "And we've seen this when a few Democrats have tried to pull back a little bit...so I think they've put themselves in a position where even if they don't believe it, they're all going to pressure each other into continuing to pretend."
Case in point: California Gov. Gavin Newsom was recently rebuked and criticized by trans activists when he acknowledged on a podcast that it's unfair for men to compete in women's sports.
Beyond external peer pressure, Blake believes Dems are also stuck in trans ideology because of their own internal pressure. "This (issue) flows out of so many other things they're invested in," says Blake. "Getting out is going to require leaving a lot of assumptions they have about everything from marriage and family to the sexual revolution and abortion...and that's going to be particularly difficult for them."
