The Texas economy continues to set records and is a haven for businesses looking to grow. According to data from the Texas Workforce Commission, the month of January 2025 was another great example of that.
According to the commission, Texas has set another record high in the state's labor force, with around 15,750,800 people. A record high number of those Texans are working, with over 15 million of them either working for an employer or self-employed.
Governor Greg Abbott praised these numbers in a press release saying, "Hardworking Texans drive America’s most dynamic economy. And with more Texans working than ever before in the history of our great state, we continue to dominate the nation for business expansion."
The Workforce Commission also reports that Texas set a new record high for total nonfarm jobs at 14,236,400, 27,900 of which were added just in the month of January.
Texas experienced high year-over-year job growth in January, adding nearly 187,000 jobs.
