Texas Governor Greg Abbott is taking a victory lap after announcing record-breaking job growth for Texas over the last 12 months. With new highs in both the number of Texans working and the size of the labor force, Texas leads the nation in annual job creation.
Abbott said in a press release, "With the best business climate in the nation and a strong and growing workforce, Texas is where the future is building."
Abbott also pointed to data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics to show how strong the Texas economy is. According to the data, Texas added 274,300 nonfarm jobs from November 2023 to November 2024, more than any other state, and grew jobs at a faster annual rate than the nation.
