The state of Texas is placing new billboards in cities throughout countries in Central America to deter potential migrants from entering the U.S. illegally.

While in Eagle Pass Thursday, Gov. Greg Abbott announced the new strategy relating to getting stronger on border security while on a ranch near the U.S.-Mexico border owned by Kim and Martin Wall, who say they have found migrant women and children beaten and sexually assaulted on their property. Abbott said they want to "expose the truth" about the immigrants who assault and rape women and children while making their way towards Texas.

"We've began putting up dozens of billboards in Central America and Mexico," said Gov. Abbott. "They inform potential illegal immigrants about the reality of what will happen to them if they try to enter Texas illegally."

The Wall family said they recently found three people murdered on their property. The family also has burned down several “rape trees.”

Some of the billboards include harsh messages like 'Many girls who try to migrate to Texas are kidnapped' and 'Your wife and daughter will pay for their trip with their bodies.'

"They tell the horror stories of human trafficking," Gov. Abbott said.

According to the governor's office, there have been 516,300 illegal immigrant apprehensions, 45,300 criminal arrests and 39,400 felony charges since the start of Operation Lone Star in March of 2021.
