Texas has been the border security laboratory under Biden, so now that Trump is on his way back, how can we help him stop the flow of illegal aliens? Texas has already offered Trump our experience, and even our land.

However, extra land to process illegal aliens on isn't the only thing Texas has to offer. Former Border Patrol Chief and acting ICE Director Ron Vitiello told KTRH, "There are other things that the administration can lean in on with Governor Abbott and his team, like National Guard support to civil authorities."

Vitiello also says Trump could implement strategies that Texas has already proven to be effective, like placing buoys in the Rio Grande. He said, "Operationally, I've heard a lot of good feedback about how effective they are, and they have the advantage of being a lot less expensive than other infrastructure."

Vitiello believes support from Texas will end up being critical in the next four years of border security efforts. He pointed out how behind-the-scenes and logistical support from the state could make things a lot easier for on-the-ground, front-line federal officials.

The biggest difference, according to Vitiello, will be that there just won't be as much work to do. He says that, "One of the things that I think we'll see, like what happened in the early days of Trump 1.0, is a reduction in the number of people who try to cross illegally."
