Governor Greg Abbott is throwing his support to Republican U.S. Representative Tony Gonzales in the upcoming primary runoff. Abbott endorsed Gonzales for a third term on Wednesday. Gonzales is facing criticism from conservatives who say he's too moderate. Abbott praised the 43-year-old congressman for his support for border security measures in Congress. Gonzales represents District 23, which stretches from San Antonio to El Paso. He faces 28-year-old YouTuber and gun rights advocate Brandon Herrera in the June 15th runoff.
