A federal judge in Austin has upheld the state's ban of TikTok on any state owned devices. The ruling comes in a lawsuit filed on behalf of college researchers who say the ban is impeding their research. Judge Robert Pitman of the Western District of Texas found that the ban on accessing the social media app through state servers is a "reasonable restriction" to protect state data.
