Passengers boarding the first flight from San Antonio International Airport to Queretaro, Mexico on Viva Aerobus were treated to a pre-flight gate celebration. The festive celebration included a performance by Grupo Folkorico, music, cake, and snacks. This is San Antonio International Airport’s 43rd nonstop destination.

“It was exciting when the airline made the announcement in October and now to see passengers boarding the flight to Queretaro solidifies our strategy even more to increase international destinations. We know there is a high demand to travel to Mexico," said Jesus Saenz, Director of Airports, San Antonio Airport System. “San Antonio and Queretaro are interconnected destinations for business, tourism and visiting friends and family and this is the opportunity for both cities to welcome new visitors."

The airline also has a partnership to offer travelers from San Antonio discounts to visit other nearby towns.

“Today starts another chapter in the air connectivity between Mexico and the United States with our new Queretaro – San Antonio nonstop service, offering low fares and modern aircraft,” said Juan Carlos Zuazua, CEO of Viva Aerobus. “Now, Queretaro residents will be able to visit the River Walk and discover everything this city has to offer: art, culture, gastronomy, entertainment and, of course, shopping. And, vice versa, Americans will be able to enjoy a thrilling city like Queretaro”.

The flight to Queretaro on the A321 aircraft is just under two hours and operates on Mondays and Fridays
