U.S. Rep. Troy Nehls says he's backing the candidate for House Speaker who has the support of former President Donald Trump. The Texas Republican had nominated Trump himself for the position on Tuesday, after Kevin McCarthy was removed from the job. Trump appeared to play along for a while, but on Thursday, Nehls said he's supporting Rep. Jim Jordan of Ohio, who has Trump's backing. Nehls is the former sheriff of Fort Bend County.
