1 Father Of Georgia School Shooter Arrested On Multiple Charges, Including Murder

The father of 14-year-old Colt Gray, the suspect charged in the fatal shooting at a Georgia high school on Wednesday, was arrested yesterday. Colin Gray, 54, was arrested on four counts of involuntary manslaughter, two counts of second degree murder, and eight counts of cruelty to children. Georgia Bureau of Investigation Director Chris Hosey said in a press conference early last night that the charges “stem from Mr. Gray knowingly allowing his son Colt to possess a weapon.” While Hosey wouldn’t go into more detail, law enforcement sources told ABC News that Colin had bought an AR-style rifle as a gift for his 14-year old son; authorities have said that an “AR-style” weapon was used in the shooting at Apalachee High School. The football game scheduled tonight for Apalachee High School has been canceled, with their opponent, Monroe Area High School, holding a community vigil prayer at its stadium instead of the game.

2 Hunter Biden Pleads Guilty To Tax Evasion Charges

An unexpected development surprised most who were watching the beginning of jury selection for Hunter Biden’s tax evasion trial yesterday. Instead of going to trial, Biden pleaded guilty to nine tax evasion charges. The plea was reportedly not part of a deal with prosecutors, who said they heard about the change of plea in the courtroom when Biden’s defense team announced it. US District Judge Mark Scarsi accepted the guilty plea and set his sentencing for December 16th. Scarsi said Hunter is facing a maximum sentence of 17 years in prison and up to a $1.35-million fine. Biden’s lawyers originally announced they would enter what’s called an “Alford plea,” which would have meant he was pleading guilty to all counts but not admitting he had done anything wrong. Prosecutors opposed that idea, and Judge Scarsi didn’t seem on board with it either, so Biden’s team entered a traditional guilty plea. Attorneys from the office of special counsel David Weiss were planning to introduce over two dozen witnesses, including Hunter’s ex-wife and sister. Abbe Lowell, part of Biden’s legal team, told reporters outside the courtroom that Biden had pleaded guilty to protect his loved ones from what she called a “show trial.”

3 Homes Of Top Two Deputies For NYC Mayor Eric Adams Raided By FBI

FBI agents raided the homes of at least four top officials in the administration of New York City Mayor Eric Adams yesterday, including the home of Police Commissioner Edward Caban, First Deputy Mayor Sheena Wright, and Deputy Mayor for Public Safety Philip Banks III. No details about why the raids happened have been released, and Mayor Adams has only said that he expects all members of his administration to follow the law. The FBI has been conducting an investigation into the administration for the last year on suspicion that the Adams campaign conspired with the Turkish government to get illegal campaign contributions through straw donors, but a City Hall source told NBC News that yesterday’s raids don’t seem to be related to that investigation.
