Department of Justice (DOJ) Inspector General (IG) Michael Horowitz testified yesterday about his report on FBI & DOJ FISA abuses over the Trump-Russia investigation before the Senate Intelligence Committee.
Sen. Ted Cruz exposed the total corruption with which those agencies operate under, particularly FBI attorney Kevin Clinesmith.
He sought clarification on Clinesmith’s behavior and Horowitz confirmed the following, “A lawyer at the FBI creates fraudulent evidence, alters an email that is in turn used as the basis for a sworn statement for the court that the court relies on. Am I stating that accurately?"
Horowitz responded “that is correct. That is what occurred.”
Horowitz added that he has never “seen an alteration of an email end up impacting a court document like this.”
Cruz asked “if a private citizen did that in any law enforcement investigation, if they fabricated evidence and reversed what it said, in your experience.Would that private citizen be prosecuted for fabricating evidence, be prosecuted for obstruction of justice, be prosecuted for perjury?”
Horowitz responded that “they certainly would be considered for that if there was an intentional effort to deceive the court.”
And so far that FBI official, Clinesmith, has not faced any consequences
