1 FBI Director Christopher Wray Announces His Resignation At End Of Biden's Term

Christopher Wray, the Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, announced to his employees yesterday that he’ll be resigning at the end of President Joe Biden’s term in office. A senior FBI official said the current plan is for Wray to stay in the office until Inauguration Day on January 20th, after which Deputy Director Paul Abbate will be named acting director. Abbate will stay in that role until a new FBI director is confirmed. President-elect Donald Trump has already announced that he’ll nominate Kash Patel as the new FBI director, a plan that figured into Wray’s decision. “In my view, this is the best way to avoid dragging the Bureau deeper into the fray while reinforcing the values and principles that are so important to how we do our work,” Wray said yesterday of his decision to resign. Christopher Wray was appointed to the position of FBI Director by Trump during his first administration to take the place of James Comey, who was fired by Trump.

2 Pentagon Says Drones Aren't From Iran, Confirms They Don't Know Where They're Coming From

It was another eventful day yesterday in the story of the multitude of mysterious drone sightings in New Jersey and other states. New Jersey state and local officials held a closed-door meeting on the aircraft yesterday morning at the New Jersey State Police headquarters with representatives from the Department of Homeland Security. State Rep. Brian Bergen talked with “News Nation” after he walked out of the meeting, calling it a “waste of time” where they were told that nothing was known. Rep. Jeff Van Drew, who has called on the military to shoot the drones down, claimed during an interview with Fox News yesterday that “highly-placed sources” had told him the drones were launching from an Iranian mothership. A reporter asked Pentagon Deputy Press Secretary Sabrina Singh about the claims made by Drew, and she said there was no truth to the claims of an Iranian mothership offshore. Singh went on to say the drones being sighted aren’t from the US military or any foreign adversary or entity, but also reiterated that there was no danger to the public.

3 Gun Seized From Luigi Mangione Matches Shell Casings At NYC Crime Scene

New York City Police Commissioner Jessica Tisch announced yesterday that the gun found on Luigi Mangione when he was arrested at a McDonald’s in Altoona, Pennsylvania matched the shell casings found at the site of the murder of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson last week. Mangione’s fingerprints also matched a water bottle and a snack bar wrapper that police found near the crime scene. Mangione’s defense attorney continues to state that his client is innocent until proven guilty.
