2 Biden Administration Reportedly Discussing Unilateral Deal With Hamas To Free US Hostages

They’re not talking about it publicly, but some officials are saying the Biden administration is talking about possibly negotiating directly with Hamas to secure the release of five Americans being held hostage in Gaza. The potential negotiations wouldn’t include Israel, and the White House has so far declined to comment on the possibility. Secretary of State Antony Blinken, who was in Israel yesterday to discuss the cease-fire deal currently on the table, refused to comment on any potential direct negotiations. Blinken said the best way to get the hostages home is the deal that’s been offered. That deal, negotiated with the US’s help, has already been agreed to by Israel and only lacks agreement from Hamas to put it into effect. The United Nations Security Council adopted a US draft resolution urging Hamas to accept the deal yesterday, with only one member of the council, Russia, abstaining from the vote.

The next version of the company’s operating system for iPhones, Macs, and iPads, will include generative AI able to improve or summarize text and supplement photos with image generation. The new tech, named “Apple Intelligence” by Apple, will also be integrated into Siri, allowing the assistant to retain context from previous requests and improve its language comprehension.
