1 As Americans Head Home, Surgeon General Warns Us To Be On Guard

Americans are heading home after a Thanksgiving holiday like no other. Despite warnings from health officials not to travel due to the coronavirus pandemic, millions didn't take that advice. TSA officials confirm that at least 800-thousand passed through airport security checkpoints every day since last Sunday, except on Thanksgiving itself. Similarly, the U.S. Surgeon General is urging Americans to think about how their actions now will affect the coronavirus battle in a few weeks. Dr. Jerome Adams told “Fox News Sunday” the fight against the virus will get worse over the next several weeks. However, Adams insisted actions taken over the next several days will determine how bad the situation will be. Adams said there is light at the end of the tunnel as vaccines are on the horizon.

2 Biden Names All-Female Communications Team

President-elect Joe Biden is making history with his White House communications team. Biden revealed an all-female team to be the public voice of his administration. Jen Psaki, a longtime Democratic spokesperson, who worked during the Obama administration – will be the White House Press Secretary, while Kate Bedingfield will be the White House communications Director. Bedingfield has been serving as Biden's campaign communications director. In a statement, Biden called it a team of experienced communicators who will "bring diverse perspectives to their work." Speaking of work, Biden is set to name his economic team this week.

3 Feeding America CEO: Food Insecurity In Some Places Affects 1 In 2 Kids

The CEO of Feeding America says the hunger problem is very concerning, but that's especially true in some particular communities. Claire Babineaux-Fontenot told CBS' Face The Nation there are some places where one in two children are dealing with food insecurity. She noted rural areas and communities of color are particularly vulnerable as well. Babineaux-Fontenot insisted the federal government has a role to play and that involvement should grow. However, she added that producers and growers are also part of the solution.
