1 Secretary of State Mike Pompeo Meets with Putin

Russian President Vladimir Putin has welcomed Secretary of State Mike Pompeo to Sochi, Russia. Speaking at a press conference, Putin says he wants to work toward rebuilding U.S. and Russia relations. This is the first time Pompeo has visited Russia since becoming Secretary of State in 2018. For his part, Pompeo reiterated that the United States is committed to improving ties, but warned that Russian meddling in the 2020 election would seriously harm relations. At a press conference with the Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, Pompeo said they agreed on topics such as Islamic terrorist groups in Syria and complete denuclearization of North Korea. Unfortunately, Pompeo says there was disagreement on Venezuela, as the U.S. supports Juan Guaido ,who won the recent election – and Russia supports the Nicolas Maduro regime. Also at issue? Lavrov appeared to suggest in his remarks that the two leaders could not agree on Iran as Pompeo said the U.S. will continue to apply pressure on the capital Tehran

2 Trump Jr. Reaches Deal To Testify Before Senate Intel Committee

The wanted it, they’re getting it. President Trump's son has struck a deal to testify in the Senate Intelligence Committee. According to various reports, Donald Trump Jr. will answer questions behind closed-doors sometime in June. The session – which will take place with Trump, Jr. under oath – will last between two and four hours and will reportedly cover a limited number of topics. As we told you before, this isn’t about one of the many Democrat-led investigations, this subpoena was issued by the Republican-controlled committee. One of the big topics on tap? Senators want to ask more questions about what Donald Jr. knew about plans to build a Trump Tower in Moscow. At issue, the fact that the Trump Tower Moscow project was being developed until June 2016, even though Trump publicly said he had no business interests in Russia.

3 Tim Conway Has Died

Tim Conway, award-winning comedian and “The Carol Burnett Show” star, has died at 85. According to a rep for the late star, he passed away due to complications from a long illness characterized by fluid in the brain. Conway is best known for starring on “The Carol Burnett Show,” along with multiple Disney comedies in the 1970s. He’s been nominated for 13 Emmys, six times for his involvement in “The Carol Burnett Show” as both a performer and writer, and won six. “I’m heartbroken. He was one in a million, not only as a brilliant comedian but as a loving human being,” says Burnett in a statement. “I cherish the times we had together both on the screen and off. He’ll be in my heart forever.”
