Charity McCurdy was born and raised in San Antonio, Texas. As a proud military brat, she graduated from Randolph High School in 1997 and continued her education at Northwest Vista College. She continues to have close ties with the military community by serving as a board member for the Randolph Education Foundation, helping raise money for student scholarships. Charity began her broadcasting career in 2002 as a technical director and news reporter, and she became the morning news anchor on News Radio 1200 WOAI in 2008. Charity can be heard weekday mornings on San Antonio’s First News with Charlie Parker from 5AM to 9AM. She also anchors the news during the Glenn Beck Program and the first hour of the Rush Limbaugh Program. Charity’s news updates on Facebook live weekday mornings at 7:10 on WOAI’s Facebook page provide a behind the scenes look for listeners wanting to get a quick news update while interacting with the news personality. In addition to providing the latest news updates on News Radio 1200 WOAI, Charity also provides news briefs on San Antonio’s Q 101.9, Corpus Christi’s 1360 KKTX, El Paso iHeart Radio stations and various FM stations in Wichita, Kansas. In 2009, Charity was named one of the San Antonio Business Journal’s ‘40 Under 40’ Honorees. In her free time, she enjoys traveling and hiking with her husband, Bret, and cuddling with their three rescue cats.
