On Monday (December 15), a Connecticut judge disbarred Hunter Biden for violating the state's attorney conduct rules. This decision follows complaints related to his federal gun and tax convictions. Last year, President Joe Biden pardoned his son, Hunter, for these offenses.

In a virtual court hearing, Hunter Biden agreed to disbarment and admitted to attorney misconduct, though he did not admit to any criminal wrongdoing. Previously, he was disbarred in Washington, D.C., in May. The Connecticut judge found that Hunter Biden violated several ethical rules, including engaging in conduct involving dishonesty, fraud, deceit, or misrepresentation.

Hunter Biden's legal troubles began when he was convicted in Delaware federal court for purchasing a gun in 2018 while allegedly lying about his drug use on a federal form. Additionally, he faced charges in California for failing to pay at least $1.4 million in federal taxes. He pleaded guilty to misdemeanor and felony charges just before his trial was set to begin in September 2024.

Paul Dorsey, one of the complainants, objected to the disbarment agreement because Hunter Biden did not admit to committing crimes. However, Leanne Larson from the Office of Chief Disciplinary Counsel cited the pardon as a significant factor in the decision. Hunter Biden has been a member of the Connecticut bar since 1997, a year after graduating from Yale Law School.
