Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey is donating $3 million towards an experiment in Universal Basic Income.
The trial program will run in 15 cities, offering citizens a set guaranteed income to help cover expenses and keep them out of poverty.
Dorsey says the program, which has not yet launched, can help "close the wealth and income gap, level systemic race and gender inequalities, and create economic security for families".
