1 Department of Justice Subpoenas Minnesota Officials, Including Walz And Frey

The Justice Department has sent subpoenas to Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey, and other state leaders as part of an investigation into whether officials tried to block federal immigration enforcement. State Attorney General Keith Ellison, the office of St. Paul Mayor Kaohly Her, and two counties also received subpoenas. Mayor Frey accused the Trump administration of weaponizing federal power to intimidate local leaders for doing their jobs. Attorney General Ellison said the subpoena was for records and documents, not for him personally, and called the timing suspicious. The move comes after an ICE officer shot and killed Renee Nicole Good, a U.S. citizen and mother of three, during an immigration operation in Minneapolis.

2 President Trump Speaking To World Economic Forum This Morning

President Donald Trump traveled to Switzerland last night for the World Economic Forum, where he plans to promote his vision of American dominance and push forward his controversial desire to take over Greenland. Trump will lead the largest U.S. delegation to the forum, meet with CEOs and world leaders, and take part in a signing ceremony for his Board of Peace, originally proposed to oversee Gaza's recovery but now facing criticism that it could rival the United Nations. Trump's push for Greenland has put him at odds with NATO allies, and he has refused to rule out military action to secure the Danish territory. Over the weekend, Trump threatened to impose a 10-percent tariff on eight NATO countries starting February 1st if no deal is reached. Trump has teased plans to unveil major housing reforms in Davos, including a ban on large investors buying single-family homes and calling for the federal government to buy $200 billion in mortgage bonds. The president is scheduled to speak at 7:30 am this morning.

3 Countries Are Signing On To President Trump's "Board of Peace"

More than 10 countries have signed on to President Trump's Board of Peace for Gaza, though only five have publicly confirmed their participation: the United Arab Emirates, Belarus, Morocco, Hungary, and Canada. Trump wants countries to contribute $1 billion for permanent membership, and he is pushing for a signing ceremony at the World Economic Forum in Davos. Russia has been invited despite its war in Ukraine, and Trump threatened France with 200-percent tariffs on wine if it doesn't join.
