The Texas Senate has officially passed the Texas Women's Privacy Act, which protects women's spaces like restrooms, locker rooms, and even prisons from male intrusion.

Senate Bill 7 was authored by Galveston-area Senator and Attorney General candidate Mayes Middleton and Senator Lois Kolkhorst and passed in a 19-2 vote.

Texas Values released a statement praising the passage of the bill, in which Government Relations Director Mary Elizabeth Castle said, "The time is now to protect women in their guaranteed sex-separated spaces. I am pleased the Senate is acting swiftly, and I expect the House to do its job and, once and for all, protect Texas women."

A similar bill has been put forward in the House by Representative Valoree Swanson. It has enough support to pass but is currently blocked by the Democratic quorum break.
