Officials with the State Fair of Texas say the event drew record attendance this year. The fair said 2.4 million people showed up for the 2024 event, about 100,000 more than last year. More than 200,000 visitors entered the fairgrounds on the day of the Red River Rivalry, which is the highest single-day attendance in the history of the fair history. Now that the fair is over, food and drink vendors with the State Fair of Texas will donate unsold items to food pantries and shelters all across North Texas.
