Discussion continues among Texas legislators about the fate of death row inmate Robert Roberson. He was set to be executed last Thursday when a House committee issued a subpoena for him to testify before them on Monday in a hearing about his case. Roberson didn't testify after all because of a disagreement over whether he should appear in person or remotely. Instead, the committee heard from other witnesses, including TV personality Dr. Phil and author John Grisham. Roberson is sentenced to be the first American executed for a conviction based on shaken baby syndrome, now considered flawed science.
