A federal appeals court says Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton can continue investigating suspected cases of vote harvesting for now. Late last month, a federal judge ruled that a Texas state law's prohibitions on certain voter outreach efforts unconstitutionally restricted free speech. That decision brought Paxton's probes of possible vote harvesting to a stop. Paxton appealed to the 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals, which on Tuesday granted a temporary stay of the judge's ruling and allows the investigations to continue until the full appeal is granted or denied.
