A Democratic congressman from Austin is running for chairman of the Congressional Progressive Caucus. Nobody else has announced a candidacy for the position, but 35-year-old U.S. Rep. Greg Casar says he plans to meet with each of the caucus members before the vote, which will take place after the November 5th election. Casar is up for reelection in the 35th Texas Congressional District. His Republican challenger is Steven Wright.
