A new contract with the firefighters' union now has the approval of San Antonio City Council. Council members ratified the three-year deal on Thursday, the same day they approved the city budget for fiscal year 2025. It's the first time in 15-years the city and the San Antonio Professional Firefighters Association have worked out a deal. Union membership approved the contract on Monday. It takes effect on October 1st, and includes raises of more than 21-percent over the next three years.
