The Texas Secretary of State's Office is asking for federal help to determine whether non citizens have registered to vote in Texas. Secretary of State Jane Nelson made the request on Wednesday at the direction of Attorney General Ken Paxton. Nelson told the director of U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services that Texas is entitled under federal law to receive citizenship status info from the agency. She said the request is made is part of an effort "to ensure the integrity of our elections" by eliminating non citizens from the voting rolls.
