The Rangers picked up a close win in their series opener in Seattle. Texas beat the Mariners 5-4 at T-Mobile Park. Josh Jung, Nathaniel Lowe and Marcus Semien each hit a solo home run. Starting pitcher Kumar Rocker threw seven strikeouts through four innings of one-run ball in his MLB debut. Matt Festa earned the win in relief, while Kirby Yates recorded his 30th save. The Rangers are third in the AL West at 71-and-76. They visit the Mariners again tonight. Right-hander Jacob deGrom is scheduled to make his season debut opposite Seattle righty Emerson Hancock. In other news, shortstop Corey Seager is set to undergo season-ending surgery to repair a sports hernia.
