Union Pacific is taking one of its legendary steam locomotives on a U.S. tour. The "Big Boy Heartland of America Tour" kicked off yesterday in Nebraska. The tour features the 133-foot-long,1.2 million-pound locomotive that was once a workhorse of the Union Pacific rail line. Engine 4014 was retired in 1961 but restored and returned to service in 2019. The tour will take the locomotive across several states, reaching Dallas in mid-September. After a pause for maintenance, the engine will head to Houston, Bryan and Fort Worth in October.
