Bexar County Sheriff Speaks At Democratic National Convention

Bexar County Sheriff Javier Salazar spoke at the Democratic National Convention in support of Kamala Harris' presidential campaign. Despite previously complaining about Biden administration efforts on the border to deal with immigration and border issues, Salazar on Wednesday night said, Harris has gone to Mexico to try to "stop the traffickers."

The sheriff claimed former President and current GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump made matters worse at the U.S.-Mexico border. "When Donald Trump comes to the border he's not there to help us. Don't think that for a second. He is a self-serving man."

Salazar's statements are at odds with Trump's efforts to build a border wall, and Harris's infrequent trips to the border region.
