Sheila Jackson Lee's Daughter Announces Run To Fill Congressional Seat

House Judiciary Committee Meets For Markup On Articles Of Impeachment

The late Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee's daughter is entering the race to finish her mother's term. Erica Lee Carter announced her candidacy on Monday. Jackson Lee died last month after representing Texas' 18th Congressional District since 1995. Carter joins about 15 Democrats and one Republican in the running. The Democratic Executive Committee serving the 18th District will select the party's nominee this month. A special election is scheduled for November 5th to determine who will finish out Jackson Lee's last term.
