Just in time for the start of the new school year today, the San Antonio ISD is releasing its procedures for dealing with extreme weather. Superintendent Jaime Aquino notified parents that if classrooms get too hot, a school would use portable air-conditioning units, move kids to another part of campus, or move them to another school. Nearly 100 SAISD schools had to close down last January when the heat failed, and two closed in May when the A-C went out. District officials say they plan to use bond funds to upgrade the HVAC.
