Valdez, Astros Defeat Rangers In Arlington

Framber Valdez fell one out shy of his second career no-hitter as the Astros downed the rival Rangers in Arlington. Houston defeated Texas 4-2 in the second outing of a three-game series at Globe Life Field. Valdez earned the win and moved to 11-and-5 after striking out five and allowing two runs on one hit through eight-and-two-thirds innings. Yordan Alvarez homered and tied with Jake Meyers with a team-high two RBI. Josh Hader recorded his 23rd save to help the Astros snap a three-game losing skid. Houston is second in the AL West at 58-and-55. Corey Seager hit a two-run homer in the bottom of the ninth to end Valdez's potential no-hitter. Tyler Mahle [[ rhymes with rally ]] was tagged with the loss on the mound. The Rangers have split their last four games to sit at 54-and-60.
