San Antonio ISD is having a series of community meetings to discuss how the district can repurpose its recently closed campuses. On Monday evening, community members went to Douglass Elementary School to provide feedback on the district's "rightsizing" plan. The closure and consolidation of schools was a cost-cutting response to declining enrollment. SAISD would still own the buildings, but would make them available to local nonprofits that benefit children. The idea is to raise enough money to maintain the buildings.
