The minor league San Antonio Missions are expected to have a new downtown ballpark in operation by 2028. Mayor Ron Nirenberg and Bexar County Judge Peter Sakai recently sent a letter to Major League Baseball with an update of their efforts to develop the stadium. The letter said the new stadium will have about 45-hundred seats and a capacity for about eight-thousand fans. So far, there's no estimate of how much the stadium will cost, but the idea is to pay for it with a bond issue instead of property taxes.
