Gov. Greg Abbott says CenterPoint Energy's initial proposal for severe weather preparation is "inadequate." The governor met with CenterPoint executives on Thursday at the State Capitol to discuss the proposal. More than two-million CenterPoint customers lost power last month after Hurricane Beryl, and it was more than a week before all the lights were back on. Abbott says the company will have to complete projects such as tree removal and pole upgrades by the end of August instead of the end of December, as the company proposed.
