The Texans are adding an experienced playmaker to their backfield. ESPN is reporting that Houston has signed free agent veteran running back Cam Akers to a contract. Akers is coming off a torn left Achilles that he suffered in Week Nine of last season while suiting up for the Minnesota Vikings. He has torn his left Achilles tendon twice, after also sustaining the injury during the 2021 offseason. The 25-year-old has rushed for 1,581 yards and 11 touchdowns through 36 career games spent with the Vikings and Los Angeles Rams.
