There will be a new starting second baseman for the American League in the All-Star Game on Tuesday. Marcus Semien of the Texas Rangers will now start his third consecutive All-Star Game as he is set to replace Jose Altuve of the Houston Astros in the starting lineup. Altuve will be resting his left hand after he was struck by a pitch on July 5th. Minnesota's Willi Castro will take Altuve's spot on the AL roster. Orioles outfielder Anthony Santander will be making his All-Star debut after taking the spot of Houston's Kyle Tucker, who is nursing a bruised right shin. Castro and Santander increase the number of first-time All-Stars to 36.
