Gov. Greg Abbott is calling for an investigation into why so many Texans lost power after Hurricane Beryl made landfall, and why it's taking so long to get the lights back on. From a week-long trade mission in Asia, Abbott said he's directing the Public Utility Commission to look into why this sort of thing happens so often in Houston. The governor was focusing on CenterPoint Energy, which serves the Houston area. CenterPoint executive Jason Ryan appeared before the Public Utility Commission on Thursday to answer some questions.
