Whataburger App Gives Users An Idea Where The Power Is Still Out

In the absence of a CenterPoint outage map, millions of Texans are using the Whataburger app to see where the lights are on. In an X post on Monday night, a Tomball man said he used the burger chain's app to see where nearly two-million customers were in the dark. The post has almost nine-million views and thousands of reposts. CenterPoint's outage tracker crashed after May's derecho drew more traffic than the site was designed to handle. A CenterPoint spokesman says they're working on a more robust outage tracker.
