Alex Bregman hit a tiebreaking two-run homer in the seventh to lift the Astros over the Marlins. Houston defeated Miami 4-3 in the series opener at Minute Maid Park. Bregman finished the game 2-for-4 with three RBIs while hitting his 11th homer of the year. Chas McCormick went 1-for-3 with an RBI and a pair of runs scored to help Houston snap a two-game losing skid. Ronel Blanco earned his ninth win after striking out seven and allowing two runs through seven frames. Josh Hader notched his 16th save as the Astros improved to 47-and-44. They host the Marlins again tonight. Left-hander Framber Valdez will start opposite Miami righty Bryan Hoeing.
