Utility companies say it could take days to restore all of the power in Texas following Hurricane Beryl. More than 2.7 million homes and businesses were without power after the storm slammed into the state early Monday.
Outages were widespread along the coast, through the Houston metro area and into East Texas.
CenterPoint Energy reported more than 2 million of the outages were on their system. Crews are expecting to work around the clock and other crews will be brought in to restore the power as quickly as possible.
