Beryl is now weakened into a tropical depression. As of the last update from the National Hurricane Center, the storm was pushing out of the state. The storm made landfall Monday morning near Matagorda as a Category 1 hurricane. It brought heavy rains and flooding to Texas, leaving millions without power and at least six people dead. The six deaths have been attributed to fallen trees or drowning. Life-threatening storm surge and flooding risks are still threatening the area. It now threatens Oklahoma, Arkansas and southern Missouri with heavy rain.
